American country singer known as the Baron of Country Music and who is remembered for wearing a patch over one of his eyes. He released singles like "Hard, Hard Traveling Man" in 1970. He hosted a Massachusetts radio show in 1948 and was also part of a local band called Trail Blazers. Later he was drafted in the U.S. Army, where he served in the Korean War from 1952 to 1954.
