Though particularly famous for his Gavorkna Fanfare, this American composer published close to sixty other musical pieces. Also a conductor and music professor, he established Indiana University of Pennsylvania's Keystone Wind Ensemble. After earning an undergraduate degree in music education from Indiana University of Pennsylvania, he received a master's degree from East Carolina University and a Doctor of Musical Arts from Michigan State University.
