Well known for his 2004, Australian chart-topping single "These Kids," this rap-rock vocalist and beatboxer released albums titled Joel Turner and the Modern Day Poets (2004) and Out of the Box (2007) and was nominated for numerous APRA and ARIA awards. He began singing and playing the guitar during his childhood years. He developed his talent for beatboxing because he could not afford a drum set but was still intent upon practicing rhythms.
