A member of the famous Von Erich wrestling family, he was posthumously inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2009; named Pro Wrestling Illustrated's Rookie of the Year in 1984. He grew up wanting to be a cameraman or musician, but ultimately got sucked into the wrestling career and lifestyle.
