Poet and philanthropist remembered for Wielder of Words, a poetry collection published in the last decade of the twentieth century. Her best-known individual poem remains "Mother at 75." In her early adulthood, as a result of her young son's illness and subsequent impairment, she involved herself in children's rights activism, eventually establishing the Matthew J. Pascal Foundation in honor of her son.
