Estonian writer who is remembered for his historical novels. His best-known works include Villu Voitlused (Battles of Villu), Usurandajate Radadel (On the Trail of Faith Travelers), and Kollid (Monsters). He published his first novel, Tasuja (Avenger), in 1880.
