Remembered primarily for his New York stage career, this Northern Irish-born actor performed in over thirty Broadway productions, including Tomorrow's a Holiday (1935-36), Polly with a Past (1917-1918), The Lottery Man (1909-1910) and A Runaway Girl (1898-1899). He made his Broadway debut in the 1893 production of The Girl I Left Behind Me and appeared in his first film, Arizona, in 1913.
