Twentieth-century Swedish opera singer. He performed numerous tenor roles at such world-famous venues as the Metropolitan Opera (New York), La Scala (Milan), and The Royal Opera House (London). He made his operatic debut in a 1930 Royal Swedish Opera production of Puccini's Manon Lescaut.
