He gained fame for being the youngest member of SMAP, a famous Japanese idol group from the agency of Johnny & Associates. He appeared in Galileo in 2007 and played a role in Monsters in 2012. He was born in Yokohama, Kanagawa Prefecture and after signing with Johnny & Associates in 1988, he joined Skate Boys. He later joined SMAP.
