Remembered for his Tigrinya-language music, this Eritrean vocalist and songwriter released four albums between 1991 and his death in 2006: Wegahta, Tesfa'iya Snqey, MsTir fQri, and Semai. He began playing his first musical instrument when he was nine years old and released his first recording in the early 1990s on the Virgin Records-Europe label.
