Bio:

Abstract expressionist and color field painter whose works included "The Stations of the Cross" and "Onement 1." His later work, such as 1966's "Who's Afraid of Red, Yellow and Blue?," became famous for its use of color. He attended the City College of New York, where he studied philosophy. He had his first exhibition at the Betty Parsons Gallery in 1948.
