Retired soccer player most famous for scoring the winning goal for South Korea against Italy in the 2002 FIFA World Cup. He was named as the K League's Most Valuable Player in 1999. He was born in Paju, Gyeonggi and began his professional career with the K League's Busan Daewoo Royals in 1998.
