Venezuelan classical composer who became the music director for the Los Angeles Philharmonic in 2009. He was also the music director for the Orquesta Sinf nica Sim 'n Bol var. He became interested in composing after first learning to play the violin at age 10. He was educated by the renowned Venezuelan musical education program El Sistema.
