Famous for her 1971 hit "Mr. Big Stuff," this soul, funk, and rhythm & blues singer also scored Billboard Hot 100 listings with "My Toot Toot" and "You Think You're Hot Stuff." She began her music career as a singer at a Louisiana bar owned by her cousin and soon attracted the attention of music producer Huey Meaux.
