Early 20th-century designer of many Los Angeles landmarks, including the Greek Theatre in Griffith Park. Founder and charter member of the Hillcrest Country Club. He worked as a draftsman for Edward Neissen, a Los Angeles architect, upon finishing high school in 1895. He established his own Los Angeles-based architectural firm in 1902 after spending some time as a design apprentice in New York City.
