Left back who appeared in 127 matches for Sampdoria from 2007 to 2011. He debuted with the Swiss national team in 2005, competing in the 2010 and 2014 World Cup competitions. He debuted professionally for Grasshopper in 2002 after spending two years in the club's youth set-up.
