Known for his musical 'The Sentimental Bloke,' which was set to the poetry of C.J. Dennis, and the 'Alamein Concerto.' He also wrote the setting for 'Clancy of the Overflow' by Banjo Paterson. He graduated from the New South Wales State Conservatory in 1924 and later, the cole Normale de Musique de Paris.
