Nineteenth-century author, activist, court clerk, and writer of the Slovak national anthem. His literary works include Puchovska skala (poetry) and Zhoda liptovska (prose). He attended the Bratislava Lutheran Lyceum but left the school in protest after a professor was fired for holding Slovak nationalist views.
