Patriarch of the UpTV reality family the Bates' who all star together on the series Bringing Up Bates. Alongside his wife, Kelly Jo, and their nineteen children, the Bates family made their television debut in 2015. When he and his wife got married, the pair weren't sure they would even have kids. They married in December of 1987.
