An English screenwriter, he is best known for his work on the popular BBC series, Doctor Who. He and his frequent collaborator, Bob Baker, worked on numerous other projects, including a 1970s children's sci-fi television series entitled Sky. He was born in Birmingham, England. One of his earliest screenwriting projects was a 1971 episode of Doctor Who entitled "The Claws of Axos."
