Jordan Matthews Traded to Bills for Ronald Darby After Sammy Watkins Deal

The Buffalo Bills acquired wide receiver Jordan Matthews and a third-round pick in the 2018 NFL draft from the Philadelphia Eagles on Friday in exchange for cornerback Ronald Darby.
Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network passed along the news. Adam Schefter confirmed the deal.
The Bills announced earlier Friday they traded wide receiver Sammy Watkins and a 2018 sixth-round pick to the Los Angeles Rams for cornerback E.J. Gaines and a 2018 second-round pick.
Buffalo underwent a regime change during the offseason with head coach Sean McDermott and general manager Brandon Beane replacing Rex Ryan and Doug Whaley, respectively.

The moves Friday are a clear sign the Bills are going to retool the roster with a new vision, but it could take some time to complete the process. Going from Watkins to Matthews, and Darby to Gaines is a downgrade in upside at each position, but the team did get draft picks it hopes will offset the difference.
