Isle of Man TT: Michael Dunlop races to victory after Ian Hutchinson rushed to hospital

Michael Dunlop picked up his 15th TT win

The Bennetts Suzuki Dunlop rider won by 13.3 seconds from Peter Hickman following a red flag thanks to Hutchinson’s high-speed crash on the Mountain section of the course.

Dunlop’s triumph takes him fourth on the all-time solo Isle of Man winners’ list.

And he said: “We have made the impossible possible with this brand new bike – it was hard work and there was a bit of pressure but I eased it home. Everyone remembers who won the Senior.”

Dunlop had been on the charge from the start powering in an opening lap at 132.292mph, as he headed off the determined Hickman riding the Smith BMW.

Hutchinson had been duelling for supremacy with Hickman, with both riders averaging over 131mph on their opening lap when it all went wrong for the Tyco BMW rider on the second lap.

He was at least conscious as medics raced to the scene at the 27th milepost but the Bingley rider was complaining of severe pain in his legs.
