Ben Simmons Records First Career Triple-Double: NBA Twitter Reacts

t only took Philadelphia Sixers rookie, Ben Simmons, four games to record his first career triple-double. The 6'10 point forward scored a career-high 21 points, grabbed 12 rebounds and dished out 10 assists in 34 minutes in Philly's 97-86 win over the Pistons in Detroit last night.

With last night's performance, Simmons became the first player since Art "Hambone" Williams in 1967 to record a triple-double in the first four games of his NBA career. The only other player to do so was Oscar Robertson, who had three triple-doubles in his first four games as a rookie during the 1960-61 season.

Additionally, Ben Simmons is the first player since Shaquille O'Neal to record a double-double in each of his first 4 career games.

Simmons, who was selected by the Sixers #1 overall in the 2016 NBA Draft, is currently averaging 17.4 points, 10 rebounds and 6.6 assists over his first four games. He sat out all of last year while recovering from foot surgery to repair a Jones fracture.

The Sixers, now 1-3, will travel to Houston to take on the Rockets tomorrow night.
